Product personalization in a shop: three ways

Personalization means adding something from the customer to the product: a name, a photo, a logo. In an online shop there are three ways to do it. The choice depends on the product and on how much work the buyer wants to put in.

Full designer: the customer designs alone

For banners, stickers, T-shirts with a company logo. The buyer gets 38 fonts, text on an arc, 18 text effects, over 5000 elements and a QR code. They remove a photo’s background in one click and can generate an image from a description if you turn on the AI generator. On phones the panels slide up from the bottom.

Simple designer: a ready design and a name

For gifts, mugs and boxes. The buyer picks an occasion and a category, e.g. Christmas › For kids, sees a ready design on the product photo and only types a name or a dedication. The designer can open in a smaller window over the shop. More on the gifts, boxes and merchandise page.

Link after purchase: for marketplaces

Allegro and Amazon have no product page with a designer. The customer buys a regular product and after payment gets a designer link by e-mail. It works via Base, Apilo and SellAsist. Details on the print order management page.

Frequently asked questions

Which way should I choose?

When the customer has their own file or logo, the full designer. When they buy a gift and only want to type a name, the simple designer with ready designs. When you sell on marketplaces, the link after purchase. All three can run in one shop.

Can a personalized product be returned?

Under EU consumer law, goods made to the consumer’s specifications are usually excluded from the 14-day right of withdrawal. Describe this in your shop terms. The designer records the date the customer accepted the design.

Does the customer see the product before buying?

Yes. On the product page the customer sees the design on the product photo or at print size. The print file is made from the same design.
