Canva or a designer in the shop: which gives a better print file
Canva is a great design tool, but it knows nothing about your product. The customer has to set the size, bleed and export by themselves. A designer in the shop knows the product: it opens at its size, adds bleed and links the file to the order.
- Canva
- Customer sets size, bleed, export
- Shop designer
- Size and bleed from the product template
- Order
- Designer: file in the order right away
- Colours
- Canva CMYK only in the paid version

The customer already has a Canva design
They do not have to start over. In the designer they can upload the Canva PDF as an image and fit it to the product size. The designer shows the cut line and warns if the resolution is too low. How to prepare the file in Canva itself: print file in Canva.
Frequently asked questions
Can the customer upload a Canva file to the designer?
Yes, as a PDF, PNG or JPG up to 50 MB. A PDF is converted to a 300 DPI image.
Does the designer replace Canva?
For shop products, yes: it has text, photos, elements, text effects and ready designs. For general design, Canva remains a good tool.
